"I joined from a small company in Portugal, so I went from
knowing all 30 employees to a huge company with around 3,000! It
was a nice surprise to find that there are so many really competent
people here. It's a product-driven company and you feel like you're
having a direct impact, it's very rewarding. People are focused on
getting the good stuff done, doing extra hours to get the best
product out there. You're always working with people that you know
are good.
"Really it's pure development and pure creation. It's not unique
but it's hard to find this kind of scale, with these sorts of
targets (two to three million devices required each year) in my
line of work. Each month we get new toys to play with, new devices,
it's a real thrill to see the next big thing. You'll never look at
a sat nav in the same way until you've actually built one."
